When you are out for a day’s walking it is important that you take enough kit with you to make your day comfortable going.
A day pack such as the Remote II 25 Rucksack from Berghaus is the ideal carrying solution for the walker.
The Remote 25 has a good selection of features for the walker. On the outside of the pack there is one zipped pocket on the front which is of sufficient size to take a camera, map etc and on each side there elasticated mesh pockets where you can store water bottles or gloves which is is good feature and one often seen on larger packs.
The exterior of the pack also has two walking pole attachments and a well secured bungee for extra kit and can take a climbing helmet easily. Some elements are picked out in reflective material for safety which is nice addition.
Comfortable and flexible
The pack has well placed shoulder straps which are lightly padded and can adjust to even the biggest of frames and has a adjustable chest strap and removable light weight hip-belt.
The back of the pack features the breathable Berghaus Flow back system with vented foam to allow for extra comfort when carrying a heavy pack and also to keep your back cool especially in the summer months.
On the inside there are multiple storage options which include a two mesh pocket internal organiser and a pocket large enough to take a laptop although be aware that this isn’t padded so it is perhaps not best suited to transport your digital pride and joy.
If you are a runner, there is space for a hydration system with a nicely placed hole for the hose to be threaded through and mounted on a shoulder strap via a elastic strap. There is even a ring for clipping your keys onto to stop you having to rummage through your bag when you get home.
The internal compartment is spacious enough to take your waterproofs, lunch box and spare clothing without any problem.
The material the pack is constructed from is hardwearing and is available in blue, red and black. It can take a light shower of rain or snow but the pack really needs to be used with a waterproof rucksack cover. I use the Small Rucksack Cover made by Highlander with the pack and it has proved to be well matched and effective in heavy rain.
I have used many Berghaus products over the past years and they have proved themselves time and time again and the Remote 25 is no different. A well made rucksack that will serve you well for years.
