The organisers of the 2018 Burntisland Civic Week are inviting visitors to explore the town’s heritage.

A number of free guided walks will allow walkers to find out more about this well known Fife Coastal Path stop.

To celebrate Burntisland Civic Week a guided evening historic walk will take place on Wednesday 20th June at 7.00pm. The walk winds around the centre of Burntisland, visiting the Burgh Chambers, the historic Parish Church, and Rossend Castle. This walk also takes place every Wednesday at 2pm during July and August.

On Saturday 23rd June at 11am the circular Outer Heritage Walk takes place and takes the walker from the High Street, to the golf course, across The Binn, and back via Kirkton Churchyard and Rossend Castle. This walk also takes place on the last Friday of July, August and September at 1.30pm.

The starting point for both walks is the Burntisland Heritage Centre which is located just off the High Street and to accompany the walks the Trust have created an informative leaflet describing the walks and this can be downloaded from https://www.burntisland.net/heritage-trails-leaflet.pdf

More information about the walks and the Heritage Trust Exhibition can be found by visiting: https://www.burntisland.net/heritage-trust.htm

Just been on the inner heritage walk and it was brilliant. I thoroughly recommend it, some really fascinating and amazing buildings, history and human stories delivered by someone who is passionate about the subject. Superb!
