Walk Fife will be running a free workshop – Introduction to Nordic Walking – on the 24th August 2018.
This fun workshop will introduce the techniques behind Nordic Walking to the beginner.
Nordic Walking has many great health benefits and is a very good way to get fit and healthy while enjoying the outdoors.
Walking poles will be provided for use during the session but attendees are welcome to bring along their own walking poles if they prefer.
Participants are required to bring suitable outdoor clothing for the conditions along with suitable footwear – walking shoes are preferred but trainers or light walking boots are acceptable.
The instructors, along with the Walk Fife team, will be available for 45 minutes after the end of the workshop to answer any questions related to Nordic Walking.
This workshop session will cover the following aspects and techniques of Nordic Walking:
- Introduction to the Nordic Walking pole
- Selecting the right pole for you
- Adjusting your poles correctly
- How to adopt the perfect Nordic Walking posture
- Warm up techniques for the Nordic Walker
- Nordic Walking techniques & practice
- The do’s and don’ts when Nordic Walking

We would like to invite people to request a workshop place using our online booking form. We will then draw 20 names at random from the pool of requests and assign them each a place on the workshop.
