Kirkcaldy’s Beveridge Park offer a lot for the walker looking for a short but enjoyable stroll.
I, like many others, comment to work by car and I am always needing to stretch my legs before spending a day behind my desk.
Beveridge Park is ideally situated in the centre of Kirkcaldy for the commuter wanting to unwind from the drive and get some fresh air before switching into work mode. No matter the weather, the park is a lovely place to start the day.
This route is only about 3km long but offers plenty to enjoy. The route begins in the car park and for the majority of the trail it follows the main path that encircles this wonderful town park. The east side of the park is flat and even ground before climbing slightly to the higher elevation of the west side.
Half up the hill you can chose to stay on the main path and follow it round or take the turning into the woodland where you can follow the Wizards Trail along well kept paths in the shade.
The woodland is well kept and easy to walk and eventually loops back to the main pathway of the park which will lead you back to east side and your starting point.
Apart form morning walks, Beveridge Park is an ideal place to visit and is perfect for kids as there is an excellent play area, boating lake and miniature railway to be enjoyed. No matter where you look there is something to be enjoyed in the park - well worth a visit.
