Clatto Hill sits north of the town of Kennoway and is a hidden hill top that many forget.

This route contains strenuous sections so is not suitable for walkers with limited ability.

The route begins at a parking spot at the entrance to a field. Please be considerate of the farmer when parking to allow access to the field. Leaving the parking spot walk along the road and turn on to the farm track. Follow the farm track along the edge of Devon Wood towards Edensmuir Forest. This section of the walk is fairly easy going.

Crossing into Edensmuir Forest the route becomes more challenging as you have to leave the path and walk up to the top of the hill through the woodland. Take care with your footing in this area. The summit of the hill is marked with a Ordnance Survey Trig Point (OS Grid NO 3556 06513).

At this point you can return the way you came or continue through the forest towards Clatto Farm and follow the farm tracks back to the road you started on and onwards to the parking up spot.

I found this route when bagging Trig Points with my friends.
