This circular walking route takes in the beauty of the Fife Coastal Path and the charming village of Crail.

The village of Crail is one of Fife’s most poplar tourist locations and it offers walkers taking on the coastal path an ideal place to stop and recharge.

The route begins in the village itself. There is plenty of parking available and the village can also be reached by the regular bus service. You start the trail by heading down through the village to the harbour where you will pick up the Fife Coastal Path.

The Fife Coastal Path is a excellent route to walk and is very popular in the summer months. The path takes you from the harbour along the coastline past the decommissioned Crail Airfield which saw service in both world wars and is a interesting place to explore especially for photographers who like abandoned locations.

Passing the airfield you skirt along the edge of Crail Golf Course towards the head land of Fife Ness. This is the most Eastern point of Fife and offers some spectacular views and is an ideal place to stop for rest before heading inland to make your return to Crail.

The home stretch follows Balcomie Road which is has a stable footpath alongside it and takes you back in to the village and to your start point.

This a pleasant walk in the summer months and suitable for most walkers but the coastal path will present some issues to those with limited walking abilities.
