Dunbog Hill is located to the south of the small hamlet of Glenduckie.

This walking route is a pleasant stroll through the countryside and is one shared with me by my father.

The route begins in a small siding on the A913. There is just enough space for two cars to park up. If the spaces have been taken you can always park in Glenduckie itself but take care not to cause an obstruction to the farm traffic.

Leaving the starting point the route passes by Dunbog Farm on a reasonably well maintained farm track. The route can get quite muddy in the wetter months so be prepared.

The route follows the farm track towards Dunbog hill and onwards around it’s base. The surrounding scenery is nice and the area isn’t too bad for midges but insect repellent may be a good idea.

The route does not take in the top of the hill itself as the field is home to livestock but if you want to visit the trig point you can do so by cutting off the trail and walking through the field but please take care. (OS Grid NO 2872 1644).

The route snakes around the base of the hill and heads past Balmeadow Hill and a small woodland and eventually meets up with the A913 where you turn left and follow the road back to you start point. The road is only paved along a short portion but the grass verge is wide enough to step onto to avoid oncoming traffic.

There are a number of geocaches to be found in the area. An enjoyable short stroll through a hidden part of Fife’s wonderful countryside.
