Lochore Meadows Country Park offers many walking routes.
There are easy short strolls and longer more challenging routes.
This 7.25 km circular walking route begins on shore of the loch next to the new visitor centre. Leaving the centre follow the path heading towards the remains of The Mary Pit winding gear.
As you approach the pithead veer right following the path into the tree line and out the other side. the path is marked along the way with posts.
Follow the path until it meets a farm road. Turn left and follow the road for approximately 1km until you see turning left into Harran Hill Wood. Follow the path as it winds it’s way through the woodland down towards the shores of the loch. This part of the route is popular with cyclists so be careful.
When you reach the base of the hill veer right and follow the path around the loch. Lochore Meadows has several good geocaches hidden across it and this path will allow you to log quite a few. This section is very easy to walk and there are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view over the park.
The loch side path will lead you back to the start point and in the lodge you will find toilets and a cafe should you need either. A very enjoyable walk and ideal for families.
