This is an enjoyable long distance walk taking the walker from Kirkcaldy to Aberdour  using an inland route instead of the popular and well-trodden Fife Coastal Path.

This particular route begins at a coastal car park but can be started anywhere in Kirkcaldy.

The route follows a minor road which takes you through gentle and scenic countryside. There are plenty of nice places along the way to stop for a rest and it is fairly midge free even at the height of the summer.

The route surface is fairly stable and suitable for most able bodied walkers. Care has to be taken as the route is popular with cyclists and it it also used by farm machinery.

The  route ends in the coastal village of Aberdour. There are several very good pubs and cafes for you to recharge before ether taking a bus or train back to your starting point in Kirkcaldy.

This an excellent route in spring and summer but, because of the the route being very exposed, it is not really ideal for the autumn and winter months when the poor weather takes hold.
