Largo Law (OS Grid NO 4271 0497) measures 290m and is a great wee hill for youngsters to get the walking bug.
This route is not suitable for dog walkers all year round as during March and November the farmer does not permit dogs on the hill due to livestock and sheep concerns. There are signs posted at the start of the route regarding this.
Limited parking is available near the Kirkton of Largo (Upper Largo) cemetery.
Follow the rough farm track towards Chesterstone Farm. Skirt around the farm buildings (avoiding annoying the farmer) and follow the sign onwards along the track on to the hill itself.
The ascent is steep and caution must be exercised especially in wet and wintery weather.
You will eventually reach the first lower top and then, after you have caught your breath, you can move along the dip towards the hill top which is marked with a trig point. The view all around is lovely on a summers days and a good spot for a picnic.
There are a number of geocaches in the local area.
To descend backtrack your route up taking care not to slip on the steep section. When you reach the end you can get refreshments from the local pub.
Route shared with Walk Fife by John Wilson.
