This walking route around Tentsmuir Forest is one of my kids favourite summer time walks.

The route begins and ends at the forest car park where you will find plenty of picnic benches.

You do have to pay for parking which costs £2 per day for the full day.

This route takes in part of the Fife Coastal Path and the views across the shores are stunning. A great place to fly a kite. As you make your way around the forest you will see waymarkers positioned at junctions to help guide you around the forest. The pathways are firm and even making it accessible for pushchairs and buggys.

The route takes almost 3 hours so make sure you bring plenty of snacks and drinks with you and most importantly of all remember to bring insect repellent as the midges are fierce.

You can find out more about Tenstmuir Forest on the Forrestry Commission website - http://scotland.forestry.gov.uk/visit/tentsmuir
