The winner of our competition to win a Berghaus Arrow 30 Rucksack has been drawn.

We had one of these terrific rucksacks to give away to one lucky winner.

Berghaus Arrow 30 Rucksack - Walk Fife

The question for this competition has caused a lot of head scratching for many people. We had over 2000 valid entries sent in to us and only 237 of those were correct. So what was the troublesome question?

Which coastal town has a castle that once stood on it’s own island in the Firth of Forth?

Well the answer is of course – Rosyth.

Rosyth Castle, originally a 15th Century tower house, once stood on it’s own island in the Firth of Forth.  In 1903 the Admiralty bought the shoreline and reclaimed land to build Rosyth Dockyard.

You can learn more about the history of Rosyth Castle by visiting it’s wikipedia page.

The Winner

Congratulations to Lorraine McDaniel who was drawn first from all the correct entries and well done also goes to the three runners up who each won a Walk Fife T-shirt of their choice.

A new competition will be announced soon.

Happy Walking!
